We typically offer used commercial panels. Many times, these were used for a few years in large solar farms owned by power companies.
Solar technology is always pushing forward. It’s almost like the computer or cell phone industry – companies are always coming out with newer and more powerful products. Because of that, power companies will frequently replace large tracts of panels in order to upgrade them to newer, more efficient panels.
Manufacturers of commercial panels like these typically design their panels to be very, very tough, and to live a very long life. It’s not unusual for them to warranty their panels for
12 years at 90% power output
25 years at 80% power output
Although the manufacturer’s warranty is void once the panel goes to the second-hand market, all of our panels are tested to ensure they work properly and have good output. Furthermore, if Wolfpack Solar offers up a 5 year old commercial solar panel for sale, it’s safe to assume (based on the warranty and design life numbers above), that it will still have 90%+ of it’s original output.
